My Focus
My work is driven by a central question: how do communities make, sustain, and renew democracy from the ground up? I explore this through three interconnected practices.
Through civic innovation, I work alongside communities to experiment with participatory approaches and expand what's possible for local democratic renewal.
Through storytelling, I document the people, places, and everyday practices that shape collective life, particularly across the Mediterranean.
Through research, I investigate the challenges communities face and the solutions they develop to strengthen civic agency and democratic resilience.
Together, these practices allow me to move between action, observation, and inquiry — connecting what happens on the ground with broader questions about the future of democracy.

Collettivo Onda: Local Community Revitalisation (via Commonground Initiatives)
Community Revitalisation & Local Democracy | Monfalcone, Italy
A grassroots community initiative bringing people together to reclaim spaces for connection, dialogue, and collective action. Founded in Monfalcone, Collettivo Onda experiments with social gatherings, cultural activities, and participatory practices to strengthen belonging, bridge social divides, and reimagine democratic life from the ground up.

MICRO*ONDE: Participatory Community Revitalisation Framework (via Commonground Initiatives)
Participatory Civic Innovation & Community Engagement | Monfalcone, Italy
A participatory civic innovation program and framework using creativity, dialogue, and collective experimentation to strengthen community agency and democratic participation. Through facilitated labs, storytelling, and co-design, MICRO*ONDE brings diverse residents together to explore local challenges, imagine alternative futures, and turn shared ideas into community-led action.

Queering the Frontline: Spotlights of Democracy Leaders (via Commonground Initiatives)
Community Storytelling & Feminist Perspectives
A storytelling initiative documenting the experiences and perspectives of women and underrepresented voices working at the forefront of grassroots community change. Through personal narratives and interviews, the project explores leadership, identity, and the often-overlooked contributions of those shaping civic and democratic life from below.

Women Writing Berlin Lab (2017-2019)
Creative Writing & Collective Storytelling | Berlin, Germany
A creative writing and collective storytelling space bringing women together to explore identity, belonging, and lived experiences through writing. Through facilitated workshops, shared reflection, and creative expression, the lab creates opportunities for connection, amplifies diverse voices, and explores storytelling as a practice of personal and collective empowerment.
